 | TREAD THE BOARDS - ONE YEAR ON ... | | | | | Have I really been with them for a year? | Posted by Andrew Spencer on 24/08/2012 |
It is hard to believe I joined the Tread The Boards theatre group a year ago but I did. Since joining I have worked on a couple of productions, doing the sound for both. For my sins I am also now on the Committee that organises the group as Publicity Officer ...

So I am going to publicise the next production. It is a comedy double-bill and is being performed towards the end of September in Milton Keynes. The double-bill is great fun and consists of White Lies by Richard James and Dirty Business by Derek Webb.
White Lies
White Lies is about four University friends who meet up at a London restaurant after thirty years to catch up and reminisce. Director Vikki Morton said Bea is only concerned with herself and the other ladies decide it's time for payback. But their little revenge stunt goes further than they planned ..."
"It is a comedy with some great typically bitchy female moments, but there is also great drama, sadness and a life-changing revelation for one character in particular and the build up, as the play unfolds, leads to a very satisfying end result for the main protagonist - who basically gets what she deserves."
Dirty Business
Cuts are on their way big time at the local County Council as it struggles to find ways to meet Government spending targets. Josie and Angela are cleaning the office of one of the Councils Department Heads one evening when they come across a file, which seems to show that their jobs are on the line too.
They also discover some incriminating evidence, which seems to show the same Department Head is guilty of marital infidelity. Armed with this, they set out to try and persuade him to change his mind about some of the planned cuts. But not everything goes quite according to plan ...
It is on Friday September 28th at 7.30pm and Saturday September 29th also at 7.30pm at the Wavendon Community Centre, Wavendon, MK17. For full details please click here.
By the way I wrote in February about this theatre group and our search for a scenery and prop store. We are no nearer finding a replacement for our current store, which was given a reprieve because Tesco in Wolverton chose to refurbish the store rather than knock it down and start again. But we are still vulnerable to Tesco's plans to build; they are maintaining planning permission and will do it one day.
So if you can help us do get in touch and if you are in the MK area do come to the show!
Until next time ...
